The Challenge
MEXC’s campaign suffered from a cluttered UI and hidden mission data, causing user confusion and high drop-off rates.
The Solution
I transformed the complex, task heavy interface into a streamlined, gamified journey by simplifying the information architecture and prioritizing mobile-first navigation.

Web design
Prototyping
The original mission layout was overwhelming and hard to trust. It points out annoying issues like buttons that didn't work as expected, confusing reward labels, and even grammar mistakes that made the whole event feel less professional. Navigation was a struggle too, as users were forced to tap specific tiny spots just to get back to the main map.
The check In system left users guessing instead of feeling rewarded. The layout was a bit of a mess, users didn't know exactly how much they’d earn after finishing a task, and confusing terms like "catch-up chances" were never explained. It even used random icons that didn't appear anywhere else in the app, and the zone rules were a headache for anyone trading from a different country.
The referral system was confusing and inconsistent for users. The labels didn't match up, with some areas talking about "Game Boxes" while it’s in the "Referral Events," making it hard to tell what was actually part of the main mission. Even basic things like navigation were frustrating, some menus used an "X" to close while others required dragging down, and buttons switched randomly between "Invite" and "Register Now".
The Course menu was more of a roadblock than a guide. The layout felt upside down, with the first planet stuck at the bottom and a "X" button placed so high it was hard to reach with one hand. It was also full of confusing icons and vague pop-ups that didn't actually explain how to qualify for the 500 USDT rewards, leaving users stuck and unsure of their next move.
To create a high-fidelity, gamified "Star Voyage" experience within the MEXC ecosystem that incentivizes consistent user engagement and trading volume through a cinematic planetary conquest narrative.
Transform the platform into a daily habit by incentivizing engagement. A gamified streak system and revamped Check-In interface encourage users to return each morning. "Revive" missions help recover broken streaks, keeping users motivated.
The goal is to integrate social growth into the user journey. By redesigning the referral section with clearer calls-to-action, inviting friends becomes a rewarding mission. Mystery box incentives gamify referrals, encouraging users to expand their network for more rewards.
We aim to create an immersive experience aligned with the "Star Voyage" theme. This includes replacing outdated layouts with a cinematic narrative, glowing planet states, and interactive mission sheets. Standardizing UI elements ensures a professional look and modern gaming feel.
Splash Screen
This is where the user begins their journey as an adventurer, with the goal of conquering seven planets to secure the 500 USDT grand prize. It utilizes zoom animations and a kinetic typing effect to make the transition feel like a professional mission briefing, as if the spacecraft is accelerating toward its first destination, MX Horizon.
MX Voyage
After the intro animation, users reach the MX Voyage, a galactic map displaying all seven planets. I optimized the layout by moving primary action buttons to the bottom "thumb zone" and simplifying the timer for instant readability. Inspired by the gamification success of Duolingo, the planets now feel like rewarding milestones, with new "viewfinder" arrows enhancing the sense of progression toward the 500 USDT goal.
Countdown Timer
I redesigned the countdown timer to eliminate visual clutter. While the legacy version featured a distracting ticking clock, the new UI displays only the remaining days at the top level. For users seeking precision, the "Event Timeline" can be expanded to show full details, including hours, minutes, seconds, and official event dates.
Expanded Missions (Current)
I redesigned the text heavy layout, placing key tools like Check In and Rewards in an accessible card. The mission list was streamlined by merging referral rewards and adding clear gift icons for easy prize identification. We also simplified tooltips into easy-to-tap underlines.
Expanded Missions (Unlocked)
I updated the title to celebrate their success and deactivated the "Invite" and "Trade" buttons. We added a red bubble counter to the "Check In" and "Rewards" icons so users can see how many streaks or prizes are waiting. Rewards like Fee Vouchers are now scrollable for easy access.
How It Works
Now the How It Works bottom sheet is standardized layout and design
Unlocked Planet
Once a planet is unlocked, the planet icon transforms from a dull "locked" state into a bright, saturated planet that actually glows on the map. We also updated the floating bar at the bottom to switch from a lock icon to a blue planet icon, making it instantly clear to the user have successfully conquered this part of the galaxy and are one step closer to the 500 USDT prize.
Check In
This page shows the new Check In system, replacing the old layout with a more intuitive & gamified experience. We simplified the calendar to focus on the current date and added a countdown timer. The language is clearer, telling users they can "recover their streak" by completing missions, and rewards are clear, showing progress toward a 100 USDT Mystery Box.
Check In (Streak Broken)
This page shows the Streak Broken state, turning a negative experience into an opportunity. Users are encouraged to "complete a mission to jump back to Day 3 and keep your streak". Now the copywriting has been updated to let the user easily understand what it means to complete this mission.
History
I replaced the old "My Achievements" title with a more direct "History" title
Referral Rewards
This section was hard to find in the dropdown. So it is included in the bottom cards section. The new design also standardizes action buttons to "Join" for all tasks and updates the title to "Explore More Referral Rewards" to match the space exploration theme.
Course
I fixed the confusing layout so the mission path starts at the top. The close "X" button is now at the bottom for easier one-handed access. Mission cards are fully clickable, and unlocked planets are highlighted with a checkmark to celebrate progress.
Mission Complete
After the user completes all missions, they will be brought to this page showing they have earned 500 USDT. I also prioritized the social aspect of this by letting the users share this achievement. They can also simply click at the bottom of the screen to go back to the MX Void.
